Michelada Cubana "Mexican Style Beer"

Thanks to the Mexican custom of adding chili to everything, the acclaimed michelada was born. But lately, something has happened that this traditional preparation is being transformed with many ingredients that might seem incompatible, but when mixed with beer they have an original and very refreshing taste for hot summer days. Here we will teach how to prepare one of the most iconic versions of a michelada, "la Cubana".

Due to its flavor and characteristics, this way of drinking beer is perfect to accompany any dish, so get your beers ready and enjoy the most refreshing drinks of the summer.

Michealada Mexican Style Beer Served

Prepare this refreshing drink in its "michelada Cubana" version by mixing only 7 ingredients and your favorite light beer.

Ingredients

(Serves 1)

  • 1 bottle of your favorite light beer

  • Enough Tajín chili powder, for the frosting

  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice

  • 1 lemon, sliced for frosting

  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

  • 3 tablespoons Maggi seasoning sauce

  • 1 teaspoon of Tabasco sauce

  • Pinches of grain salt

  • Lemon pieces, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the mug of beer upside down on a plate with lemon wedges to coat the rim with its juice. Then frost with Tajin chili powder.

  2. Pour the lemon juice into the frosted jar, then the Worcestershire sauce, the Maggi seasoning sauce, Tabasco sauces, and a pinch of grain salt. Move with the help of a spoon until incorporated.

  3. Pour the beer and decorate with a lemon wedge.

Add a plus to the Cuban michelada! Fill at least a third of the jar with Clamato, mix and pour the beer. Tomato and clam juice gives it a more acidic flavor and a thicker texture, which is why this type of michelada is highly recommended for people who do not like beer alone.
